Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination begins with a visual examination including an oral cancer screening, followed by complete periodontal charting. We will also take a full mouth series of x-rays, which includes periapical radiographs for proper diagnosis of any disease around the roots of the teeth, as well as bite-wing x-rays for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth. A panoramic x-ray will be taken for proper evaluation of all structures of the upper and lower jaws. After all these diagnostic records are obtained, a diagnosis can be formulated and treatment recommendations discussed with you.
